Jean Pogge is a social entrepreneur who has proven ability to align social mission with revenue goals. Happiest at the intersection of business and social innovation, she served on the executive leadership team of ShoreBank for over a decade. An experienced nonprofit manager, Pogge has served as President of Woodstock Institute (1988-1992), CEO of Delta Institute (2010-2015) and CEO of Ecotrust Canada (2016-2019). She currently serves as Interim Director for Woodstock Institute.
Pogge is passionate about the role of social enterprise in scaling impact and moving beyond foundation funding. She has experience in business planning, organizational structure, capital raising and sales planning and execution. She has mentored new CEOs through the formative first year of a new business and staffed nonprofit boards of directors in exploring how a charity can best launch a social enterprise.
Pogge has a BA in English from Barat College and a master’s in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois. She is past board member of the Social Venture Network, past Treasurer of the Chicago Foundation for Women, current member of the Alumni Council of the Chicago Foundation for Women, a member of the Chicago Finance Exchange and a board member of Underdog Ventures, Climate Smart and ThisFish Inc.
