Woodstock signed on to a letter led by the National Consumer Law Center urging Congress to pass the Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution to overturn the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC)’s harmful true lender rule. This rule allows predatory lenders to evade state interest rate caps (like Illinois’s Predatory Loan Prevention Act) by engaging in rent-a-bank schemes with rogue banks.
We also signed on to a coalition letter for small business advocates, led by Americans for Financial Reform, urging Congress to overturn the rule.
And we signed on to a coalition letter with 400+ other organizations urging Congress to pass the CRA and overturn the rule.
