Last month, Woodstock signed on to a letter led by the National Consumer Law Center to support the Real Estate Valuation Fairness and Improvement Act of 2021 (H.R. 2553), which was just introduced in Congress by Reps. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) and Ritchie Torres (D-NY). This bill addresses issues of racial equity in the procedures and techniques used to value residential property, and directs funds to historically Black colleges and universities to train more appraisers of color.
