Woodstock Institute signed on to a letter led by the National Consumer Law Center (NCLC) and Center for Responsible Lending (CRL). The letter urges the new Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Rohit Chopra, to regulate fee-based earned wage access products as credit. Viewing these products as something other than credit will lead to evasion of consumer protection and fair lending laws.
