Comment Letter: Urging HUD, VA, and USDA to Extend Deadline to Start COVID-19 Forbearance Plans

Woodstock Institute signed on to a letter led by the National Consumer Law Center (NCLC) requesting that the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) extend the deadline for borrowers to start a COVID-19 forbearance plan. The deadline was September 30, 2021, but given the current state of the pandemic and the surge of new cases, advocates believe that borrowers should still have access to a special forbearance plan if they need it.
