Letter of Support: End Double Taxation of Successful Consumer Claims Act

Woodstock signed on to a letter led by the National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA) in support of the End Double Taxation of Successful Consumer Claims Act (S. 766, H.R. 4457). The bill was introduced by Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto and Rep. Steven Horsford, and would ensure that consumers that successfully hold bad actors accountable through the court do not unfairly pay income taxes on funds that go directly to attorney fees and court costs. Those funds would instead be tax-deductible.
