Yufei Liu, Fair Lending Research Analyst

Yufei Liu has extensive experience in fair lending and credit quantitative analytics, data analytics, and development economics and policy research. She currently works as a Fair Lending Research Analyst at the Woodstock Institute, where she conducts applied quantitative research to support the analysis of lending disparities and consumer financial protections. Her work centers on using large-scale financial and public data to produce policy-relevant insights through quantitative analysis and the development and maintenance of Woodstock’s interactive data portal.

She brings hands-on experience in big data analytics for fair and impact lending, including credit risk analysis, underwriting support, and impact-oriented lending. Through her prior work at Greenwood Archer Capital, she applied quantitative risk analytics and portfolio-level analysis to evaluate loan performance and underwriting practices, gaining practical experience in fair and impact lending through direct lending and client-facing work, complemented by data-driven portfolio management. She also worked with the Cook County Assessor’s Office, conducting county-level analysis of property and tax data and supporting data portal management and data visualization efforts to enhance transparency, data quality, and analytical capacity for public-sector decision-making.

She holds a Master’s degree in Research Methodology and Quantitative Methods from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics with a concentration in Finance from the University of International Business and Economics in China.
