2026 Economic Justice Awards

Woodstock Updates

The 2026 Economic Justice Awards were a success! We want to thank everyone who came out to help us honor Dr. Helene Gayle, former President & CEO of the Chicago Community Trust (CCT), and Fred Campobasso, Chief Lending Officer at Great Lakes Credit Union (GLCU).

We also used this year’s event to celebrate and say farewell to our decade-long Senior Vice President of Policy & Advocacy, Brent Adams. During his tenure at Woodstock, Brent led efforts to pass the Predatory Loan Prevention Act and the Illinois Community Reinvestment Act. For this work, the Illinois State Senate awarded him a Proclamation for an Exceptional Career.

Woodstock extends a huge thank you to both the sponsors (see below) and our supporters who make our work possible. Check back here for upcoming Woodstock events, including a 50th anniversary celebration of the 1977 Community Reinvestment Act happening in late 2026!

As part of this year’s event, we took time to pay tribute to some recent casualties of the Trump Administration’s war on economic justice. While created as a parody video, it rings true to what’s happening in our nation. If we can’t laugh at the sheer audacity of assault on federal protections, we might cry (or go insane).
