Community Reinvestment Act Statement (for South Shore Bank)

Summary

This report discussed a statement of our lending activities and objectives in our community that is required by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the regulatory agency charged with implementation of the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977 (also known as Title VIII of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1977, Public Law 95-128) for insured financial institutions. The purpose of such statements is to provide a means by which the FDIC can determine whether these institutions are meeting “their continuing and affirmative obligation to help meet the credit needs of their communities, including low- and moderate-income neighborhood, consistent with safe and sound operation of such institutions.”
