Summary
This report is the first in a series on the new financial services industry. It presents 1) definitions of the major types of financial services providers that offer either loan or deposit services to consumers; and 2) profiles of selected mega financial corporations. It is intended to be a references tool that demystifies the institutions active in the financial services industry, The Bankers of Today. Towards that goal, non-technical definitions and illustrations are used. In addition, six corporate profiles are presented to illustrate the breadth and scope of the large, multifaceted corporations that appear to be the Bank of Tomorrow.
