Summary
This report discussed how raw Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) data were obtained via RTKNET, Unison Institute, Washington, D.C. All calculations and aggregations of data were performed by Woodstock Institute. HMDA data is reported to federal banking regulators each year by financial institutions. Notes on Data Fields; Census Tract: All tracts in the Gary PMSA, per RTKNET, are included. Lender: The name of the bank, savings and loan, or mortgage company accepting the loan application and making the loan. All lenders making loans in the PMSA are included. Reg: The code for the regulator of the lender was also included in the report.
